Gospel renewal is a life-changing recovery of the gospel that is actually experienced, not just known intellectually.

-Iman itu sulit karena menuntut kita untuk melepaskan kendali.
-Iman itu sulit karena mengharuskan kita untuk percaya pada apa yang tidak dapat kita lihat.
-Iman itu sulit karena mengharuskan kita untuk melihat dari perspektif yang sangat berbeda – melalui mata Roh.
-Iman itu sulit karena mengharuskan kita untuk menghadapi kenyataan keadaan kita saat ini tanpa mengetahui hasil akhir.
-Iman itu sulit karena menuntut kita untuk bersabar dan bertekun.

Akar dari Iman: Menemukan Identitas di dalam Yesus.

Matius 15:21-28
Perempuan Kanaan

•⁠ ⁠“Aku diutus hanya kepada domba yang hilang dari umat Israel”

He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”

“Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”

Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.”

Dua hal yang perempuan ini percayai:
-Yesus adalah Tuhan-nya
-Melalui kedatangan Yesus, janji mengenai berkat akan turun atasnya.

Tuduhan hati kita kepada diri kita sendiri dapat menjadi senjata terakhir dosa untuk menjauhkan kita dari anugerah Tuhan. Tuduhan tersebut menggoda kita untuk merasa tidak layak dianugerahi Allah. Maka, salah satu sisi penting dari iman adalah menerima bahwa kita diterima (accepted).

Danny Trejo accepted Christ in the jail, but until Salma Hayek accepted him as a whole human, he began to embrace the fullness of acceptance. When everyone treats him as “always-a-criminal,” Salma invited him to her very own family thanksgiving dinner. This acceptance changed Danny to become a man that live to help others. Even until now, 30 years after Salma invited him.

“For [God] has said, ‘I will never leave you or forsake you.’ So we can say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?’”

Boe: “a shout.”
Theo: “to run.”
When you need help, God runs with a shout, “I’m coming!”
He never leaves you. Ever!
